Inspired by the Basho poem:
An old pond
A frog jumps in
The sound of water
I tried to capture the deceptive simplicity of the haiku with this quilt. So much is conveyed in a few words - apart from the view, sound and atmosphere of the moment described in the poem there are many cultural resonances. It doesn't matter if we don't 'get' them all and hopefully it wouldn't matter if no-one knew what this quilt was about!
